California State University, Fullerton

Task Forces

MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

I am so very proud of the 11 task force leaders and their cross-discipline teams who, over the past 12 months, began our five-year effort to turn the written words of our strategic plan into living, breathing manifestations of its four goals. This tight-knit family of Titans reached higher for our students, reached across divisions and colleges for each other, and reached out to all who aspired to join them in not only transforming California State University, Fullerton, but also the lives of those who look to it first as a dream; then as a home; and finally as an alma mater.

As we wisely articulated in the introduction of the strategic plan nearly two years ago, the objectives proposed can and should evolve with the ever-changing face of our institution and the region we serve. I am so thankful to the task force members for recognizing this truth and innovating new strategies while maintaining university-wide consensus and alignment with the plan’s goals.

To that end, the below End of Year Task Force Reports provide an excellent overview of the information gathered; work performed; and pragmatic next-level steps that promise to propel us to become the model comprehensive university of the nation that we aspire to be. I encourage all in our campus community to read these reports along with upcoming information that will be posted on planning.fullerton.edu. I also ask that you bring your thoughts, ideas, suggestions and concerns to the “Titans Reach Higher Town Hall” on October 27, 2014 in the TSU Pavilions.

Again, my deepest appreciation goes out to all the task force members and everyone who shares a commitment to the future of both our institution and its students. Indeed, it is this dedication that will continue to allow us to reach higher, now and in the future.

Sincerely,

Mildred García, Ed.D.
President
